Bridge Commander is a very good game but game is alot of limititation because bridge cant dammage Sad Why Producers dont make Bridge Commander 2 ???

Well, for the same reasons that I gave on the X-Wing forums. The market for space sims have dried up. At least publishers think so and are unwilling to fund space sim projects. Star Trek is particularly dicey since it's had a very weak showing at retail overall, and the license isn't very strong anymore with no more Star Trek TV shows to boost the popularity of the license.

As with X-Wing series, I'd love to do another bridge commander game as well. I thought we did something that was pretty original with the bridge interface, and the space combat worked pretty well.

We can do damage on bridges, to some extend. The main problem is content since a bridge modder (bridge modding is still rather difficult and a time consuming process whatever the extra features).
We can switch textures, and perform animations on a bridge at several triggers, including various damage stages of subsystems (such as, but not limited to, the hull).
This is already possible through BPCore.

I'd have to dissagree, expecially in the MMO market. Can you imagine Bride Commander extended to MMO settings where you could really explore the galaxy? And, the way things work in Bridge Commander is remarkable. As a hardcore MMO gammer, a space sim such as Bridge Commander made into an MMO would be the first and only. Plubishers are not all hardcore gammers. Friends in my guilds often talk about what are good games out there to play together. People talk about the upcomming StarTrek on-line, and guess what? Bridge Commander was often metioned in the conversasion. Personally, I don't think the publisher realize what you have here is dimond in the rough.

If you can expand on the oringinal Bridge Commander, it can be an excellent game. For example, allow the players to upgrade their ship systems such as better shield generators, warpcore, weapons just to name a few. Make the crews and officers like npc pets that improve with you as you gain more experience. Allow free movment with in the ship bridge or perhaps other locations such as ready room, engineering, medical bay, mess hall so on. Expand the galaxy so players could scan for near by new star systems and warp there for new discoveries. Even a single player game with these ideas could be a very interesting game.

Also, there are other games such EvE on-line that has been successful. I know that's a lot to ask for in a game but an MMO is never ending. After the game launch, you still got work to do to expand it even more. I don't think the publishers realize how much potential the market has. Cryptic has taken a bold move, and many people wished it was more like Bridge Commander.

Perhaps you guys should head over to Star Trek Online forum and read a bit to see for yourself.

Hey this is an interesting post.I have seen people directly asking for a new release or an updated release of a game.And it sems as if you are in love with the Bridge commander game.And the problem you have mentioned is that you are unable to damage the Bridge.I have not heard about a problem such as this.You can damage the bridge as it is the main objective of the game.But anyways lets hope that the producers of the bridge commander game are listening to you and they might the release the second version pretty soon.

I have to say that considering a totally games employee just said if he had known how popular the game would become that it would actually now sell for more than when it released that he would have bought more. I know I bought a 2nd after I played it. Face it, there is even a person soliciting the company blatantly on the forums saying he wants to acquire the source code. I am also willing to make a bid and have already contacted totally games and they said that Activision is the one who has the rights to it. I contacted them and got no response.

However, with STO coming out and the movie doing so well and the dvd sales are bound to be just as successful. You simply can not say there is not a demand for this game and there is no question that it would sell well. If you are an employee of totally games and know how to get ahold of someone, anyone that has authority over the rights to this game and can either give the rights to someone who IS willing to do something with it or get us in contact with them so WE can explain it to them.

This is another perfect example of how many of us want to see this. I would say that an MMO would be a lot more expensive but I would pay it just like I am going to support STO.

This is the new shuttle launch framework.The first officer is quite annoying, barking orders at you as if she was the one in charge, telling you to do things you're already in the progress of doing etc.

There are a marketing plan behind everything, if you produce many good games and people love them. Gave for the same target group should not release until the current one of your game in the market start to get bored.
And for the popular one that many people talking about it, for sure producer will continue the next version to keep their market shared. This is what I understand. (sorry for my English)

well, It is a space simulation set for Star Trek when the Dominion War, but before Star Trek Nemesis. We want to control his Star Fleet vessel, able to coordinate the work. It seems to draw two reactions from the gaming crowd.

Thanks for that information,in my own understanding about this topic is :

The plot revolves around a newly promoted captain who is assigned to investigate an explosion of a star in the Maelstrom. Throughout the mystery, the player will often encounter characters from the Star Trek universe, including Captain Picard and Commander Data.
