Novato, Calif., December 20, 2006 – Totally Games today announced the addition of Erick Wujcik, an accomplished game designer, to the creative team. The appointment further fortifies the company’s core action RPG development efforts and also allows it to offer expanded design services to companies seeking to explore innovative opportunities that integrate a gaming experience into broader entertainment- and consumer-based brands and markets.
Serving as senior game designer and writer, Mr. Wujcik will assist in strengthening the company’s development efforts across a variety of genres and platforms, particularly the recently released Nintendo Wii. He will also spearhead game design synergy amongst the broad array of gaming systems from handhelds through the latest consoles. Additionally, Mr. Wujcik will work with the studio’s executive team to extend R&D efforts into new areas of interactive entertainment.
Within the past three years, Totally Games has embarked on non-traditional game development and design-only projects ranging from working with Walt Disney Parks & Resorts to create an innovative online PC game that allows gamers at home to play along with riders on a theme park attraction, to consulting with companies outside the gaming community on entertainment-based mobile phone applications, to creating cutting edge interface designs for DARPA on futuristic military applications.
“We’re thrilled to have Erick join our team and help drive Totally Games through its next growth phase which represents some exciting new directions,” said Lawrence Holland, president of Totally Games. “Not only does Erick’s background lend itself to our core mission of creating fun, immersive action RPGs, but it also allows Totally Games to enhance its design services which drives us to constantly think about and create innovative experiences that fall outside of the traditional gaming box.”
Mr. Wujcik brings more than a decade of studio management and game design experience to Totally Games having worked on projects ranging from role-playing games to action shooters, action adventure and massively multiplayer online games. Before joining Totally Games, Mr. Wujcik was with Ubisoft China where he managed game design on titles such as Brothers in Arms D-Day for the PSP, Splinter Cell Double Agent for the Xbox 360 and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter for the Xbox and PlayStation 2. Mr. Wujcik will report directly to Totally Games President Lawrence Holland.
In addition to building out its creative staff, Totally Games’ new direction is well underway with the development of Alien Syndrome, an action role-playing game for the Nintendo Wii and Sony PSP, due out in summer 2007. The title is being published and distributed by SEGA of America.
